NetSuite Bank Feeds: setup and common questions
With the Bank Feeds API you can push bank statement transactions into NetSuite, where they show up in NetSuite's Match Bank Data screen for reconciliation. This article covers what to set up and the questions we get asked most.
Setup
NetSuite needs a one-time setup in the consumer's account before bank feeds work:
Install the Apideck Bank Feed bundle. Your Apideck contact shares the bundle ID.
Install Oracle's free NetSuite Bank Statement Parsers SuiteApp (bundle ID 293699).
Create a Format Profile (Setup → Accounting → Financial Institution → Format Profiles) that links the Apideck connectivity plug-in to the NetSuite bank accounts you want to feed.
Add the Bank Feed RESTlet Script ID and Deploy ID to the NetSuite connection in Vault.
Give the integration role the extra permissions bank feeds need.
The full walkthrough is in the NetSuite bank feeds guide.
After a bundle update, re-check the integration role. Updating the Apideck Integration bundle removes permissions that were added by hand, including the bank feed permissions.
Common questions
Why does my statement stay pending?
A statement moves from pending to success when NetSuite imports it, which happens when Update Imported Bank Data runs for that bank account. How long that takes depends on when the import runs in NetSuite, not on Apideck. A statement also stays pending if its bank account isn't linked in the Format Profile.
What does a success status mean?
That the transactions were handed to NetSuite's bank data import. Matching them to transactions is done in NetSuite's Match Bank Data screen.
Is there a webhook when a statement is processed?
No. Check a statement's status by fetching it (GET /accounting/bank-feed-statements/{id}), or list statements periodically.
Can I see which bank accounts are linked in the Format Profile?
Not through the API. Check the Format Profile in NetSuite.
What does deleting a bank feed account do?
Be careful: on NetSuite, deleting a bank feed account makes the underlying bank account inactive in the chart of accounts. It isn't just an "unlink".
